Great News
Here is some great news that of all the people I know only I am going to care about it. It is unfortunate however this news is excellent. At least it is very good. You the reader are going to be disappointed, however I am not at all. I am a little wary since the news isn't perfect however it is still good to hear.
A Feast of the Crows is finished
You can get confirmation here. About two years ago I finished two discovered how fun reading was again and read two pretty good series. Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time and Terry Goodkind's Swords of Truth. Both had up and downs, both huge and fun to read. Then one day at a book store I wanted to discover my own series. I don't know why, those other two were recommended and I just wanted to find my own. That is when A Game of Thorns caught my eye. It was big, it was fantasy what is not to like. So I blindly bought the book and took it home. In the next two months after that I did not read it. Well I tried a couple of times but did not really like the beginning. Well I remember how crappy the beginning to Robert Jordan's first book was and decieded to read at least 100 pages. Well after that I was hooked. I loved the series so much. I was happy to learn that the fourth book in the series was going to be out in 3 months. Well about 2 years later here we are. The book is going to come out. The problem is that the book is so big that he is going to just include half of what he wrote into this book and put the other half in A Dance with Dragons. He said that some of the characters will not be in this book. It looks like John will be missing in AFoC and Daenerys who chapters were just getting really good. It also looks like Bran might be missing as well as he is in the north. I hope Arya is not missing because, well I love her. She is my favorite character in the book.
The song of ice and fire books the character is the chapter. It is written by their point of view.
Well anyways I am happy and looking forward to reading this book. I might actually buy it on hardback. Hopfully I will still be employeed. That is all up to me and how hard I work :).
Jade Empire
At Penny Arcade Expo last year I played a little game called Jade Empire. That really wet my whistle. I was really looking forward to playing it. Last week I finally bought the game. Yesterday I beat it. All and all it is a really fun game with a good story line. It is created by the same people who did Knights of the Old Republic. Think KotOR however in this land roughly based on China with magic and gods and things.
Instead of light and dark you go by the way of the open hand or the way of the closed fist. It is made to see that the way of the closed fist is actually not evil, but darwinistic. Survival of the fittest like. However while playing the game it is actually very evil. The ending made me feel kind of bad. I always play dark, however it seems to me that it just seems more evil when I am not a Sith. I guess it isn't my Vader worship taking over. In reality there is probably little difference too the two. I only saw one area where you would actually get a different power if you were light and there are some gems you can't use either way.
The story had some twists and turns. I pretty much figured out all of the twists while going through the game. There is an old saying, "Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me." Well KoTOR had an amazing twist. One that shocked the hell out of me, however looking back it did kind of make sense. Well using BioWare's ability to want to shock me and the way they leave clues so it doesn't just come out of the blue, I was not shocked in either of the big surprises. Well I was shocked by how evil you actually can become. It is pretty evil.
Happy Memorial Day
To most people this is a day off to eat food and not work. Well it is the same to me too :). Thank you to all the soldiers who died to give me this day off of work and freedom. Freedom is neat.
