Great News

Here is some great news that of all the people I know only I am going to care about it. It is unfortunate however this news is excellent. At least it is very good. You the reader are going to be disappointed, however I am not at all. I am a little wary since the news isn't perfect however it is still good to hear.

A Feast of the Crows is finished

You can get confirmation here. About two years ago I finished two discovered how fun reading was again and read two pretty good series. Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time and Terry Goodkind's Swords of Truth. Both had up and downs, both huge and fun to read. Then one day at a book store I wanted to discover my own series. I don't know why, those other two were recommended and I just wanted to find my own. That is when A Game of Thorns caught my eye. It was big, it was fantasy what is not to like. So I blindly bought the book and took it home. In the next two months after that I did not read it. Well I tried a couple of times but did not really like the beginning. Well I remember how crappy the beginning to Robert Jordan's first book was and decieded to read at least 100 pages. Well after that I was hooked. I loved the series so much. I was happy to learn that the fourth book in the series was going to be out in 3 months. Well about 2 years later here we are. The book is going to come out. The problem is that the book is so big that he is going to just include half of what he wrote into this book and put the other half in A Dance with Dragons. He said that some of the characters will not be in this book. It looks like John will be missing in AFoC and Daenerys who chapters were just getting really good. It also looks like Bran might be missing as well as he is in the north. I hope Arya is not missing because, well I love her. She is my favorite character in the book.

The song of ice and fire books the character is the chapter. It is written by their point of view.

Well anyways I am happy and looking forward to reading this book. I might actually buy it on hardback. Hopfully I will still be employeed. That is all up to me and how hard I work :).

Jade Empire
At Penny Arcade Expo last year I played a little game called Jade Empire. That really wet my whistle. I was really looking forward to playing it. Last week I finally bought the game. Yesterday I beat it. All and all it is a really fun game with a good story line. It is created by the same people who did Knights of the Old Republic. Think KotOR however in this land roughly based on China with magic and gods and things.

Instead of light and dark you go by the way of the open hand or the way of the closed fist. It is made to see that the way of the closed fist is actually not evil, but darwinistic. Survival of the fittest like. However while playing the game it is actually very evil. The ending made me feel kind of bad. I always play dark, however it seems to me that it just seems more evil when I am not a Sith. I guess it isn't my Vader worship taking over. In reality there is probably little difference too the two. I only saw one area where you would actually get a different power if you were light and there are some gems you can't use either way.

The story had some twists and turns. I pretty much figured out all of the twists while going through the game. There is an old saying, "Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me." Well KoTOR had an amazing twist. One that shocked the hell out of me, however looking back it did kind of make sense. Well using BioWare's ability to want to shock me and the way they leave clues so it doesn't just come out of the blue, I was not shocked in either of the big surprises. Well I was shocked by how evil you actually can become. It is pretty evil.

Happy Memorial Day
To most people this is a day off to eat food and not work. Well it is the same to me too :). Thank you to all the soldiers who died to give me this day off of work and freedom. Freedom is neat.

Hot too hot

Living in Seattle the beginning of summer is too hot. It was only 70 degrees but I am so used to 60s and lower. I hate hot weather. Reminds me of my stupid fat.

Cell Phone Blues

Man it is hard to get used cell phone rings. I love walking on sunshine, it is just when I hear walking on sunshine I don't think my phone is ringing. Plus I am not used to carrying a phone with me. No one calls me. Everyone hates me. I need me some cell phone bitches

New Years Resolutions half way report

New Years Resolutions

1. Do not ruin a chance for a relationship with an attractive female. I did well last year, however I did not have a chance to have a relationship with a female I found attractive

About the same as the year before. So far I call this one a failure. However it is hard to fail when you don't try.

2. Put self in position to have a chance to have a relationship with a female that I find attractive

This is the biggest failure. Haven't done squat. Need to do more.

3. Buy a car. I want a car.

Closer to this goal. Hopefully if things go will I will get one in september

4. Get a job. I have a job, but I am going to have to get one soon. Well I have experience so it should be easier to search. I hope I make at least 2 dollars more an hour than my last job. I would use that money to GET A CAR.

Boo ya, got a job, make more than 2 dollars than what I made in my last job. So this one is a success. Hopefully I will be able to do my job. I have the confidence, I just realize confidence means nothing if you do not have the ability. Thing positive, but thinking realistic helps you work harder.

5. Stop ordering pizza, hot wings and chinese food delivery. That is really expensive and not very healthy. Plus I feel like I should eat everything I ordered just because it came with delivery. I do not know why that is. Probably because I could just get more food delivered.

I am better at this. Mostly because I live with my uncle right now. Still doing better. Saving money.

6. Continue to lose weight. My goal is to get to 210 by the end of 2005. That is about 90 pounds to lose. As you can see in my ticker experiment below this post.

Well I changed it to 228, however I haven't really done much. I have lost about 5 pounds since I have wrote this. I am getting hot, I want to do this agian. Stupid fat being so warm.

7. Buy more socks and underwear. I hate doing laundry. With more socks and underwear I could do less.

Well I have bought more sock. I have been poor till now. Soon I will buy socks and underwear and it will rock.

8. Buy more shirts. I have too many shirts with holes in them. I need to replace them.

Haven't done this one either.

9. Dress snazzier and try to smell better. Why not? I don't think I smell bad, but I could always smell better.

Well dressing a little better but smelling just as bad ;)

Well that was fun :)

Star Wars = Fun Wars

Well life is going great. Another post, I believe the second this week. Ever been scarily happy? I am right now. I finally got a job and it is a good one. It has a lot of potential and I want to work there for a year at least since that is the contract. There is potential for it to be a full time gig. Not a lot, but it is still there. I realize that I am in a point of my life where my actions are going to have a huge impact on my future. Aren't times like that scary? Now down to the nitty gritty.

Star Wars
Well I went to see Star Wars today. It was easy to get in. Of course I went during the thursday afternoon. I will write my impressions down. As always I will make them as spoiler free as possible. With this movie there will probably be more spoilers as most people know how it is going to end.

Fantastic Four preview rocked. Mr and Mrs Smith preview was pretty good.

Ok to stars wars. I felt that this movie was very enjoyable. I liked the action. I felt the story plotted well. I didn't think that the love scenes with Padme and Anakin were as bad as some people said. I also thought that Anakins turn to the dark side was not as forced as some people felt. I didn't think it was quick as it has been happening since the first movie. Plus a little more in the cartoons that actually help understand what is happening in the first scene. Ewan McGregor was freaking amazing again. I really bought him in his role. He was awesome. Ian McDiarmid also rocked as the emperor. The rest of the cast did pretty good as well.

The movie was very somber at the end. It kind of had a down feeling. Also I would like to say a great NOOOOOOOOOOOO scene by good old Darth Vader

Well I suggest seeing this movie. I give it a Ya in the Awww to Ewww scale.

Aww to Eww Scale

Explaination of the Aww to Eww scale. This scale is the scale that I think or say when someone asks me if I want to watch the movie or if I liked it.

The first one is Awww. Which of course is very satisfying. "Do you want to watch 12 Monkeys?" "Awww, yea that sounds like a great idea"

The next one is Ya. It is said in the high pich kind of way. Means I like the movie, but I don't love it. "Do you want to watch My Boyfriend's Back?" "Ya, that sounds good."

The middle one is Ehh. You know with the shrugging of the shoulders. "Do you want to watch Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy?" This goes to be "Ehh, sure why not" or "Eh, not really". It can either be good or bad.

The next one is Nah. Not the worst movie. I don't really like it, but I don't hate it. "Do you want to watch the non director's cut of Daredevil?" "nah, not really".

The final one of course is Ewww. I hate this movie, why did you ask you bastard. "Do you want to watch Godzilla?" "Ewww I hate that movie, why did you ask that you bastard? They shouldn't call that movie Godzilla they should call it Mathew Broderick featuring Godzilla which is actually nothing like Godzilla but more like a giant lizard"

I hope that clears it up for my future movie reviews.

E3 maybe goodness

Hurray my first comment in months. Makes you feel like it was all worth it. It is funny how much I crave comments. At least some people have told me they have read my blog. That is nice to read. It is weird how much I want people to read my stupid little thoughts. It is amazing on how happy it makes me to see a comment. It is like, ooo christmas.

E3

E3 is happening now. In reality there are not real big surprises so far. At least I have not been surprised as most of the information has either been leaked or rumored to be announced. I expected to see the PS3, the 360 and the Revolution. I guess the only surprise was how little information the Revolution has, but I shouldn't be because nintendo is usually tight lipped. By the looks of things the Revolution looks like the best machine. I am just talking about how it looks on the outside. It is really small and probably going to be powerful. Really not much to talk about on the Revolution side other than it is small. The XBox360 has a really stupid name but it is going to take online to the next level. Xbox live works really well and the 360 introduced a lot of concepts I am not going into because I don't really care. The XBox360 has the capability to run at 1 teraflop. That is 1 TRILLION floating point calculations a second. To help what that means, the computers used to run movies run at 10 teraflops and the fastest computer in the world runs at 40. 1 Teraflop is very impressive. The 360 is going to be a very impressive machine. However it doesn't blow me away as much. I am impressed by the visuals but I am not "good lord I can't believe that is a video game" impressed.

That leads me to the machine I am very impressed with. The PS3. That cpu runs at 2 teraflops which means it can make 2 trillion floating point calculations a second. That is amazing. I know it is only 1 better than the Xbox but that one is 1 trillion. By the schematics as a whole it is 35 times more powerful than the PS2. I watched the PS3 demonstration and I was blown away. They have the full uncut presentation at www.ign.com. I highly suggest watching it if you like that sort of thing. I am going to get a PS3. The AI, the graphics, the everything, just wow.

Football
Right now if you go to the Miami Dolphin website you will see nothing but Will Poole injured for the year or David Boston being signed. Both big news, both during the season would be a thread or two. They totally dominate now because they are the only news. I hate the offseason. I hate the offseason. I hate the offseason. I hate the offseason. I can't wait till the minicamps so I can read about the undrated free agent that is tearing it up and will make a positive impact on the team even though he will probably be one of the first ones cut. Maybe I shouldn't like football so much. Nah.

Star Wars

Tomorrow by myself I am going to watch me the new Stars Wars movie. I am going by myself because when you try to get people to go along with you they have their lives with their own make it more difficult. Plus they don't care as much. I don't know why I care. I didn't exactly like the first movie. I didn't really like the second one. However I am still excited to see the first. Stupid loving star wars.

Going to Rottentomatoes.com 84% fo the people like it. The IGN said they said it was so great because it didn't suck like the first two. I saw one review that hated it. However I come to the conclusion I will never listen to a review that uses the word purile. I believe we have different taste in movies Mr. Purile.

Movies Movies Movies, Yum yum yum

Hooters hooters yum yum yum, hooters hooters on a girl that's dumb.

Movies!!!!
I went to see a movie today. Here is the review

Serenity
This movie looks neat. I am looking forward to this movie after seeing the preview.

Revenge of the Sith
Seeing the preview on the big screen made me scream out the lords name. I mean it looks amazing. Yea the movie might suck but it is going to look beautiful. I can't believe how far we have come with visual effects.

Now here is the movie

Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
I am a big fan of the books. I can honestly say there has been no book I have read more than three times. This is one of the few books I have read 3 times. I love the books. I love the humor. I watched the British movie and I found it kind of boring. I came to the conclusion that this movie would be hard to make. Watching this movie did not change my idea of why this would be a hard movie to make. I also realized that American Executives do not know how to make a good movie. It is weird when the biggest movies are innovative and good, executives still try to make crap. To me it looks like Adams died half way through the script(which I think he did) because almost all of the wit in the movie stopped about halfway through. Then there was a romantic subplot that did not make much sense.

I did read a review that said my favorite lines will not be in the movie. They were right. A couple of them did not make much sense as they would of fit in the movie perfectly. I don't know why they shortened the reason the plans were hard to find was to it was in the cellar. I love the line about "beware of pather". Plus they did talk about the Dolphins being smarter but they did not have line where humans thought they were smarter because they built buildings and computers and dolphins just played all day, and the dolphins thought they were smarter for the same reason. That kind of confused me.

I will say there were some good stuff in the movie. Mos Def was a good Ford Prefect. In fact all of the casting was done well. The movie was pretty funny. Especially in the first half. I would give the movie an "ehh". In the Aww to eww scale.

E3
I can't wait.

1st post in a million years, well technically second

Here is my first post in a few months. I probably lost the little readers I had. Well when you go from zero and go back to zero what did you lose, zero? Well I had this cool post about christians and popes and the death of Mitch Hedberg, may he rest in peace, however it did not post and it was lost. I was sad. I said I would never post again. Well I lied to myself.

NFL DRAFT

Well the NFL draft has come and gone and once again I watched it all. Basically it was good for the Miami Dolphins. The selection of Ronnie Brown should help their horrible offense last year. Matt Roth looks to be very aggressive and hopefully will be able to help with the pass rush. Crowder Channing looks to be a steal in the third round if his knees hold up. The rest seem to be good picks as well. However it is just my opinion that 4th to 7th rounders are more of a surprise when they make the team. About 50% of all drafted players make an impact no matter how small in the NFL. Most of them come from the first three rounds. For every Tom Brady there are 50 Billy Neverhearfromthemagain's.

Two big surprises from the draft. The first one was the Mike Williams going to Detroit making them the first team to ever take a wide reciever in the first round. The second was the fact that Torry Holt has a future in broadcasting. He wasn't perfect, but for someone who isn't a full time broadcaster, he did an excellent job at the draft. He knew the players, he did his homework, he came off very intelligent and also very well spoken. Which is the main job of a broadcaster to speak well.

The draft was also very long. 2nd longest first round in history. Everyone was trying to wait for someone to give them a trade, however only two trades were made. Last year's draft was awesome as everyone just wanted the player that fell to them for the most part.

OTHER NFL NEWS

Rob Konrad retired. How sad. I liked him. Just not as a Dolphin.

Winslow of the Browns may have lost 9 million dollars for riding a motorcycle. Maybe I am just weird, but if I had a million dollar contract that said that I should not ride a motorcycle, I am not going to ride a motorcycle. Then again I am a weird guy when it comes to my million dollar contracts.

T. Owens, A. Boldin, D. Driver are all holding out. This is getting kind of old. Maybe they should all just sign one year contracts.

Memorable Weekend

Well during the weekend I had a lot of fun and did two things that are very memorable. Well one was seeing my grandpa get married. Which is extra weird because I have not seen my Grandfather since we went to see As Good As It Gets. There is a rift between the rest of my family and my grandfater, but really there isn't with me and him. Basically I am just bad at keeping in touch. If you don't keep in touch with me, chances are you will never hear from me again, or maybe in five years when you get married.

The second thing is I saw my baby sister for the first time. Isn't that fun. Nice to see my sister who is 26 years younger than me. She is cute. Anita(my dad's girlfriend) thinks that she looks a lot like me as a child. I don't really know, all I have seen is pictures and I thought I was cuter. However I think we all think we are cuter when it comes to baby pictures. Still it was a nice baby. Didn't cry when I held it. Even though my aunt still thinks I am bad with children just because I couldn't handle the molested child who cried everytime his mother left the room. I am sorry I couldn't get the child who cried when his mom went to the bathroom to stop crying. I am good with kids dammit. My cousin's child loved me. (isn't that weird when cousins you grew up with start having kids?)

Random Thought of the Day
I have a cheese shredder at home, but they do not call it by it's other name. Spounge ruiner, because I tried to clean it. Now I have little bits of spounge. That easily melts over tortilla chips.

Feel the wrath of resting in peace Mitch Hedberg. May you rest in peace.
